CO2check AB has signed a strategic, group-wide agreement with Nordic Climate Group, the Nordic region's leading player in cooling, heating and energy-efficient installations, with more than 100 local operations in 9 countries and revenue exceeding SEK 7 billion. The agreement covers the entire group's climate data, emissions calculations and sustainability reporting.
The deal means that more than 60 companies within Nordic Climate Group are being connected to CO2check's platform, where climate data is collected automatically at local level and consolidated centrally – with audit-ready reporting that meets the requirements of owners, investors and EU regulations, including the CSRD.
Nordic Climate Group, owned by a broad group of entrepreneurs and employees together with Altor Fund V, evaluated the platforms on the market before choosing CO2check. The deciding factor was the ability to handle a decentralised, acquisition-driven group structure: every new acquisition should be part of the reporting from day one – not a new consulting project.
– This is a milestone for CO2check. When the Nordic region's leading climate group – a company whose entire business is reducing its customers' climate footprint – chooses a platform for its own climate data, the market's highest standards apply. Being chosen is the strongest proof we could get of our technology and our thesis: climate data should be as accessible as financial data.
Theo Carlström, CEO and founder, CO2check
– When we chose CO2check, it was crucial to find a partner willing to understand our business and our challenges. It quickly became clear that they could adapt to us and our differently formatted data sources, so that we could smoothly obtain accurate emissions data.
CO2check has made it significantly easier for us to collect, structure and use climate data, and we have had an unusually close dialogue to find a way of working that actually works for us. What used to take a long time can now be handled much faster, with exact figures straight from our own raw data and a better overview.
For us, it is especially valuable that climate data doesn't stop at reporting, but can also be used as concrete input in customer dialogues, tenders and business decisions.
Malin Appelgren, Head of Sustainability and Development, Nordic Climate Group
A rapidly growing market
The agreement comes at a time when EU sustainability regulations and owner demands for ESG data are driving a fast-growing market for automated climate reporting. For acquisition-driven groups the challenge is particularly clear: every acquisition brings new systems, new data sources and a new baseline. CO2check's platform turns climate data collection into infrastructure instead of an annual project.
The collaboration started after the summer and covers the group's operations in Sweden and internationally. The agreement strengthens CO2check's position as a leading climate data platform for acquisition-driven and PE-owned groups in Northern Europe.
